ROADIE LIFE
Sleeping on the Bus and Still Feeling Human
You can eat perfectly and still fall apart if the bunk wins. Plant-based touring is a body sport. Sleep is the other half of the diet.
The bunk kit
Earplugs that stay in. Eye mask. A layer you can kick off when the HVAC has a personality. Phone on airplane. Water bottle that does not leak on your neighbor.
Food that lets you sleep
Heavy fried late-night food will keep you hot and awake in a four-foot coffin. If you must eat after load-out, keep it smaller than your pride.
Banana, oats, a little protein. Not a drive-thru tasting menu.
The bus is moving. Your stomach does not have to.
Alcohol and the myth of the wind-down
A beer can be a social tool. Four beers in a bunk is how you wake up as a problem. Hydrate like it is part of the call sheet.
Daylight
When you get a hotel, sleep in a bed like it is medical treatment. Groceries and a shower will do more for your vegan tour than any supplement stack.
